Our client has an opening for a Tax Manager at their Dallas office. Working with Partners and Managers to lead, mentor and coach team members in various areas of tax compliance and across consulting engagements in an effort to help clients minimize tax liabilities. They are responsible for management of engagements and client communications while promoting a collaborative environment to bring value to clients.Primary responsibilities: Exhibits a high level understanding of technical requirements, procedures and principlesDemonstrates knowledge and understanding of specialized industry and/or regulatory requirementsHelps to manage and monitor preparation and review of complex S Corporation, C Corporation, partnership, multistate and individual tax returns, including projections and estimate calculationsReviews and advises on technical research memorandumResearches and reviews work papers for various book to tax differencesAbility to apply relevant tax law to particular clients and circumstancesIdentifies area of specialization and is continuously refining skills, knowledge and expertiseCollaborates with others to provide quality service to clientsEngages in professional and efficient communication with clientsLeads client meetings Promotes additional services to client when appropriateDevelops intimate knowledge of clients and their business activitiesCommunicates with the IRS and other state authorities in a professional manner when applicableEffectively delegates responsibility providing proper instructions, monitoring and coachingConducts training for associatesManages projects by scheduling associates, tracking completion and managing the budgetMaintains open communication with team regarding the progress of completion on projectsParticipates actively in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and as a facilitatorManages all aspects of billing, including client inquiriesDevelops appropriate fee quotes for new tax engagementsNetworks to promote business and bring in new clientsQualifications Accounting undergraduate degree required, Masters preferred CPA required5 years of tax experience is requiredAdvanced knowledge of Federal and income tax laws and principles of individual and business taxation is requiredStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong time management, organizational and prioritization skillsStrong project management and delegation skillsThey offer the expertise and opportunities of a large accounting firm, while providing a commitment to culture and a family-like work atmosphere.
