Assistant Controller - Consolidations

Strong Stable Growing Company is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its team. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to play a key role in the finance function for a high-growth services company, and who has the capacity to advance their responsibilities as the company grows. The Assistant Controller will be actively involved in managing the day-to-day aspects of Accounting, Financial Reporting, Human Resources, and the operational aspects of the business.

Primary Duties

• Manage the accounting operations including accounts payable, general ledger, accounts receivable, financial reporting, payroll, and tax compliance.

• Own the monthly financial close process for all companies ensuring that the general ledger is maintained in accordance with GAAP, reconciliations are performed, and reconciling items are investigated and resolved timely.

• Manage General Ledger (GL). Ensure day-to-day GL accounting activities/transactions are recorded timely, accurately, and with sufficient supporting detail.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Identifies and communicates opportunities for change to improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to streamline operations and provide superior financial and operational reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• MBA, CMA or CPA, preferred, but not required

• 3-5 years experience in an accounting role in a mid-sized business preferably within the Consumer Packaged Goods or Hospitality industries

• Experience with multi-company consolidation and related party transactions

• Working knowledge of GAAP

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems desired.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Salary Up to $130,000.00 per year plus 10%-20% bonus, excellent benefits and generous PTO program
