Summary:

The Outbound Supervisor directs and coordinates the team responsible for the fulfillment and shipping of customer orders, keeping the loading dock open from congestion, ensuring cycle-times stay current, directing the flow of pick and pack balance with a goal of eliminating bottlenecks. This role oversees the consolidation of orders, correcting order issues to ensure quality, completes transactions to ship, confirms carrier pickups, processes paperwork, and completes all necessary transactions according to established procedures. Locate product to the appropriate areas according to procedure.

Primary Duties:

  • Coach, mentor and guide a team spanning multiple shifts, in all processes, supporting company policy.
  • Ensuring all shifts are properly trained, staffed, and held accountable.
  • Drive operation organization & workflow
  • Identify, Perform RCA, and solve issues real-time
  • Drive intensity, accountability & productivity for Outbound Dept
  • Maintain workflow between inbound and outbound operation
  • Identify & resolve bottlenecks in cycle time real-time
  • Follow and coach to inventory integrity SOPs
  • Work w/Ops to develop and implement process improvement
  • Drive ALL cut-times for Common Carrier, OT & Ecom & coordinate with other locations
  • Ensure productivity and cost metrics are achieved and generate status reports and
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet critical customer metrics
  • Interface with teammates, and project leads to develop and maintain process improvement plans
  • Monitor & maintain workload requirements, including working with other department leads to maintain labor costs
  • Generate and maintain resource plans collaboratively with functional managers
  • Interface with associates, department heads, office support staff as well as all internal and external customers
  • Support manager by developing daily work plan, monitoring execution, and identifying and reporting challenges proactively. Track workload progress and develop mitigation plans and action items to stay on current
  • Track and report on deliverables and requirement lists
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop and execute daily work plan and expediting, when necessary
  • Support shipping with planning, identifying issues, and problem solving
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and respectful work environment
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, to include experience in pick, pack, and shipping
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus
  • To be successful in this role you must be dependable and lead by example
  • A positive can-do attitude, owning our culture even when no one is watching
  • Make safety a priority, ensuring that all safety and security policies are followed
  • Experience managing processes involving multiple participants and multiple activities
  • Proven team player with strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including email etiquette
  • Must be proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office and AS400 experience
