Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Security Officer (FSO) to oversee and manage our comprehensive security program. The FSO will be responsible for implementing and maintaining security procedures, managing our corporate security program, coordinating security clearances, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and managing internal Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) audits. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the defense contracting environment and the unique security challenges it presents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and establish adequate security procedures within the facility to ensure compliance with DoD requirements.
- Oversee the facility's corporate security program, procedures, measures, and staff, facilitating effective security processes.
- Coordinate fingerprinting, initiate employee security clearances (including secret and top secret), conduct security briefings, process visit requests, and manage investigations.
- Prepare and process documentation related to the origination, transfer, and termination of personnel, including clearance briefings and exit debriefings.
- Oversee self-inspections and participate in audits and investigations to ensure government compliance.
- Manage duties to comply with all government security regulations and requirements, working closely with Industrial Security Representatives.
- Ensure the optimal operation of the facility, coordinating strategic and tactical planning for its use and utilization.
- Stay current on industry trends, government activities, and ensure compliance with facility-specific SOPs and unique requirements.
- Maintain the security database, ensure the protection of classified documents, and administer document control logs and security safes.
- Provide recommendations on policies and procedures for classified material management, interpret security policies, and offer guidance and assistance to staff.
- Manage internal CMMC audits to ensure the protection of FCI and CUI information from government contracts.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a security role within the defense contracting industry.
- Strong knowledge of DoD security regulations, including CMMC, NISPOM, and other relevant security practices.
- Experience with security clearance processes, document control, and compliance audits.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Professional certification such as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP).
- Prior experience as an FSO or in a similar role within the defense industry.
- Familiarity with IT security protocols and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
