WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE OUR YARD SHIPPING ASSOCIATE - FORKLIFT OPERATOR

This full-time position works Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 4:30 pm. You get the flexibility of having weekends and holidays off.

As a Yard Shipping Associate - Forklift Operator, you are responsible for loading and unloading trucks efficiently and ensuring that all paperwork is reviewed and signed. Prior to and during the loading process, you prioritize the safety of drivers by ensuring their visibility and keeping them away from the load. Maintaining 100% loading accuracy is essential, and you mark all multi-drop loads and Bills of Ladings accordingly. Reporting any damages promptly and striving to limit pipe damage to less than $800 per month aligns with our team goal. It is your responsibility to record all pipe movements between storage yards, if applicable, and accurately make partials on short notice while properly tagging them.

Additionally, you deliver local loads safely and in a timely manner, ensuring accurate mileage recording on trip reports. Safety is paramount, and you clean and maintain equipment while implementing safe loading procedures, including load reconfiguration for secure transport. Performing snow removal duties when required and maintaining yard cleanliness and organization contribute to a safe and efficient work environment. Your role also involves determining proper product placement and completing Yard Placement Sheets as needed, as well as providing guidance to drivers on truck loading policy and strapping techniques when necessary. Conducting daily visual and preventative inspections to ensure forklifts are in safe working conditions is crucial. Above all, you prioritize safety to prevent any injuries during loading or transportation, adhering to the principle that transporting products exceeding guide posts is unacceptable. Finally, maintaining excellent customer service and driver relations is an integral part of your day, as we value building positive relationships with our stakeholders.
