Position is located: Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital

Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Summary :

Using Organization Standards of Behavior-demonstrate professionalism at all times with patients and co-workers. A team player is necessary for this position of variable skills, organization and independent working environment. Fast paced setting requires independent thinking and ability and willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs clerical duties associated with admitting, transferring or discharging patients.
  • Performs registration to assure patient satisfaction and continuity of care.
  • Works closely with coders, for accuracy of coding / charges.
  • Transcribes provider orders for laboratory work or other tests or treatments as warrants. Manages follow-up to see that requisition is received and tests are completed.
  • Enter all daily charges.
  • Coordinates with Radiology for patients to be observed after x-ray procedures.
  • Schedules patients for minor procedures.
  • Participates and encourages all aspects of professionalism.
  • Checks on and orders supplies as needed to keep department stocked.
  • Keeps daily log of all patients obtaining services through DSU and calculates and reports out all daily/monthly stats.
  • Registers all patients coming through DSU and confirms all patient demographic and financial information is correct and reviewed for accuracy updating the information obtained in the computer system generating a registration form.
