Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital - Ellsworth, ME

Department: Ultrasound

Position is located: Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital

Work Type: Full Time

Hours Per Week: 40 Hours per Week

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

This position is eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus for new graduates and a $15,000 sign on bonus for RNs with 2 years or more of experience.

*Current employees of any Northern Light Health Organization or those with service breaks less than a year are not eligible for a sign on bonus*

Summary:

The Registered Nurse for Imaging Services will be responsible for the delivery of care and monitoring of inpatients and outpatients during imaging procedures while working closely with Radiologist and the Imaging Team. The Registered Nurse is a fully competent practitioner of nursing and is responsible for the practice of nursing according to the rules and regulations defined in the State of Maine Practice Act, Northern Light Health Standards of Care/Practice, policies, and procedures. The RN performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. 

Responsibilities:

  • Placing pre-procedure patient calls to prepare patient files to include required labs, physical information, etc. 
  • Monitoring inpatient and outpatient vitals during imaging procedures 
  • Monitoring patient's vitals post procedure, if needed
  • Complete discharge instructions with patient
  • Complete post procedure patient calls as follow up to procedure

Competencies and Skills: Must have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and be a demonstrated team player 

Demonstrate reliability and accountability to team members and patients Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, be flexible and able to multitask 

IV Certification required/excellent skill appreciated 

Rotations include all imaging department sections as needed 

Credentials: Current Maine Registered Nurse License Required Certifications: BLS/ACLS Required 

Working Conditions: Lifting, moving, and loading 30 to 50 pounds Must be able to wear a lead apron weighing 10lbs for long periods of time Must be able to stand and walk up to 95% of shift Must possess dexterity to manipulate large/small objects, as needed
