Job posting for the 2023 construction season with anticipated season start in April 2023

Job purpose

Safe and efficient operation of slipform Concrete Paving Machine (Gomaco, Rex, or Guntert & Zimmerman). 

Duties and responsibilities

• Operate slipform paver for roadway, airport, and commercial projects
• Assist in machine setup and width changes and conduct pre-operational checks of equipment
• Operate construction equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
• Perform daily maintenance, cleaning, and safety checks of equipment
• Operate equipment in a variety of situations and environments while maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings
• Report need for large repairs to appropriate parties
• May be required to perform general labor duties as deemed necessary

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience operating a slipform concrete paving machine
• Experience on multiple pieces of construction equipment is preferred
• Possess a valid driver license
• Ability to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment

Working conditions

• Outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures
• Occasional exposures to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises.
• May be required to work 50 hours, 6 days a week.

• Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner
• Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments
• Standing, walking or sitting for extended periods of time
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment
• Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally
• Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching 
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 75 pounds
