North Shore Heart & Vascular is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Mandeville, LA

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our cardiology team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing quality care to patients and support healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:
- Perform clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, taking medical history, performing performing EKG's, lab draws, administer vaccines, obtaining prior authorizations and sending orders for hospital procedures, sending prescriptions, calling patients with pre-op instructions, chart prep, review electronic recordings for telemetry devices, and answering patient phone calls.

-An added plus would be experience with occupational medicine, including drug testing and physicals for employment.

Qualifications:
- Certification or diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in medication administration and knowledge of basic life support techniques.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact compassionately with patients.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

Skills:
- Proficient in taking vital signs

-Experience in phlebotomy
- Experience in patient care
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding
- Previous work in a hospital or clinic setting
- Competence in medication administration
- Basic life support skills
- Understanding of physiology and anatomy
