Office Assistant

Transitional Employment

This position requires a referral from the Frontier House. No other applications will be considered.


Salary Range:

  • $16.15/yr. - $18.95/hr.

Office Assistant:

The TE Office Assistant performs, under direct supervision, basic and routine administrative duties. Assignments are structured and performed with direction and assistance from others; require carrying out established, standard guidelines with cover work situations and alternatives. May recommend changes in procedures and forms, but the position does not have the authority to alter the operation itself.

Duties Performed:

  • Answer telephone, take and transfer messages; screen individuals and calls; answer standard questions, and refer those requiring significant interpretation, as directed, to the appropriate source.
  • Receive hard copy records, sort, and file alphabetically or numerically in compliance with existing systems.
  • Operate photocopier, fax, and associated office machines.
  • Open mail and distribute as directed.
  • Assist in contacting customers to obtain information to solve problems, errors, or complaints.
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by supporting agency collection policies and procedures; assure client understanding of service charges and fee changes. May request authorizations for services, as assigned.
  • Basic and/or light cleaning of common areas.


Education/Credentials:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.


Experience:

  • No experience is required

  • Annual Flu Vaccination
  • Annual TB Testing

Salary placements will vary and may be above the starting wage based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, education, and licensure. Salary placements will generally occur between the starting wage and the midpoint of the salary range.

Employees may be eligible for additional pay based on program, evening, night, weekend, or holiday work. Bilingual pay may be available upon successful passing of language validation testing.
