Be a part of our exciting and innovative team!Job Skills / RequirementsInner Parish Security Corporation is looking to hire an Claims Coordinator/HR Assistant to work from our corporate office in Hammond, LA. The work schedule will be full time working 3 shifts on days and 2 afternoon shifts until 9pm. Some weekends and holidays will be required. The selected candidate would be joining a multi-generational, family-owned business that has been providing security guard and electronic security services for 45 years. Our culture shapes how we run the business, and we are looking for an employee who has a positive and friendly demeanor. The selected candidate must be honest, dependable and have a strong work ethic.Roles and ResponsibilitiesAssist the HR Team in the daily administration of all HR services as directed or assigned with a focus on claims Managment and Hiring.Claims Duties and ResponsibilitiesVerify coverage of assigned claims and oversee the accuracy of claim set-up for multiple states.Ensure timely communication to insurance and claimants with prompt response time to phone calls and emails.Investigate new and existing claims to determine compensability of claims (in whole and in part) and entitlement to indemnity and medical benefits.Ensure timely payments of claim bills (medical, legal, vendor) and indemnity payments Investigating losses.Analyzing coverage, determining compensability and benefitsEstablishing reserves and negotiating settlementsConducting meetings on the phone with insurance and claimantsPreparing large loss reports to both internal and external audiencesAttending settlement conferences, mediations, and deposition as assignedWorking closely with defense attorneys and other vendors including medical case management, surveillance, etc.Establish a thoughtful approach to mitigate exposure with recommendations to management.Effectuate timely offers and settlements and ensure timely file closure.Ensure accurate and updated file information.Complete timely reports and file diariesAttend claims meetings and manage correspondence.Obtain medical reports and employer investigation documents. Secure statements from claimants/witnessesMonitor incoming medical/legal reports and respond accordingly.Timely and accurately address reserves based upon the exposure.Submit recommendations to the Claims Manager on cases exceeding personal settlement/reserve authority.Obtain expert opinions as needed.Pursue all viable avenues of subrogation.Other duties as assigned/ required.HR General Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform various activities including greeting employees, screening calls, and maintaining appropriate records.Maintain personnel files in accordance with employee confidentiality, policies and procedures, and all regulatory requirements. Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information to authorized persons.Input new hires, address and telephone number changes, tax changes, direct deposit changes, password changes and assist with benefits.Filing, both paper and electronic, is an essential part of this role and will need to be done daily.Manage programs and tracking, daily, weekly, and monthly.Run HRIS reports, maintain logs, and enter information into the HRIS system.Responsible for creating photo ID badges, activating, and deactivating building entry security cards, and maintaining the database.Handle communications, employee anniversaries, birthday reports and job postings.Managing the employee complaint processAssist employees with routine HR questions and resolving issues.Assist in employee engagement activities as needed.Issue training and track completion, compiling and reporting all compliance goal data.Complete various projects as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLSExcellent communication skills with management, employees, clients, and contacts both internal and external.Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and work in groups.Physical/Mental Requirements:Ability to operate general office equipment.Ability to effectively communicate using verbal and written skills.Ability to make sound decisions.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working with office equipment.Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled#IPSCT4SEducation Requirements (Any)High School diploma or equivalentAdditional Information / BenefitsWe are excited to offer on-demand pay.
