Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist ophthalmologists in providing eye care services to patients.
Duties:
- Perform preliminary eye function testing such as visual acuity, depth perception, and visual field testing
- Assist with patient medical history and documentation
- Instruct patients about medications, tests, and procedures under the direction of the ophthalmologist
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits
- Administer eye drops or ointments as directed by the ophthalmologist
- Provide support during eye examinations and minor office-based procedures
Skills:
- Ability to measure and record vital signs accurately
- Understanding of eye anatomy and common eye conditions
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Experience with medical records management and documentation
- Previous experience patient care is a plus
