Shipping Supervisor:

This position will be responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager in overseeing and supervising all hourly personnel and shipping activities for assigned departments, including, planning, coordinating and assigning work to meet or exceed output and productivity goals while ensuring safe actions, environmental compliance and quality shipping/receiving service in a Good Manufacturing Practice food-grade operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in monitoring shipping department wide operations, with team managers involvement.
Assist in instructing shipping team on proper receiving, storage, and issuing of warehouse items
Assist in building and completing orders in an efficient organized manner
Ensure order accuracy and the process of First In, First Out, First to Expire (FIFOFE) is maintained at all times in accordance with requirements
Compile, maintain and ensure all necessary records, inspection checklists, reports and logs are properly filled out
Work with employees to ensure walk-in and mail orders are completed in a timely manner
Monitor and review working practices to maximize performance and productivity and ensures that all procedures and working practices adhere to company standards
Assist manager to ensure warehouse equipment is being maintained in perfect condition by maintenance or outside party
Inform other departments of necessary changes or inventory discrepancies.
Offer the shipping manager all methods of improving the production or organization of work
Work with manager to establish a strong team spirit in its departments by promoting communication and respect
Is responsible for the integration and training of new employees in accordance with the company policy
Participates in internal audits
Perform other duties at the request of the immediate supervisor

Assisting with supervision of all co-workers and less trained staff members

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or G.E.D.
Prior warehouse experience
Experience with warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.)
Good computer skills

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Basic mathematical skills in weights, temperatures, times and general numbers
Able to work in a cold/hot environment
Wear clean smock, bump cap, safety boots and gloves at all times.
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Able to operate computer and write routine reports and correspondence
Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and depth perception acuities
Follow and promote safe work practices

Job Type: Full Time M-F 10 hour shifts 7:00am - 5:30pm

Pay: $21.00 - $23.50 hour depending on experience
