North Carolina Dept of Health and Human Services is Hiring an Audit Coordinator Near Wake, NC

Description of Work

The primary purpose of the Audit Coordinator position is to assist in responding to all NC FAST audits. The Audit Coordinator ensures all audit artifacts are tracked, and coordinates communications with entities such as the Federal partners, Office of State Auditor, DHHS Office of the Internal Auditor, Legislative Program Evaluation Division, DHHS Divisions, and NC FAST Executive management and sponsors. This position verifies all audit deliverables are provided by the time frames requested and follows up to provide additional information as requested by auditors. The Audit Coordinator is also responsible for working with program staff and management to ensure that all aspects of audit deliverables adhere to and are aligned with state and federal program expectations.

  • Communicating audit requirements to program and business stakeholders.
  • Scheduling, coordinating and reporting on both internal and external audit functions and act as liaison to Federal, State and DHHS Audit teams.
  • Coordinating with NC FAST PMO and NC FAST Applications Team to ensure all audit findings are identified and tracked with a mitigation plan in place with defined dates for resolution.
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external clients and providing timely
  • communication to project team management on any potential issues.
  • Communicating and consulting within Division, project stakeholders and within technical
  • community. Communicating clear goals, processes, and procedures to representatives with varied skill sets (business staff, technicians, managers, etc.).
  • Using outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Assure organizational unit and team standards and procedures are applied to all work efforts and projects and a high-quality product is provided to clients.
  • Ensure security measures are followed as data stewards in support of all applications and the Federal, SCIO, DHHS, and DHHS IT Privacy and Security polices, and standards are being enforced at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Demonstrated knowledge of State and Federal audits and excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Documented ability to be detail orientated, and to work as a team member as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to record, compile, summarize and determine conclusions and actions for audit responses and reports and effectively tailor writing style depending on audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and interact with a large staff with minimal supervision.
Management preference will be given to applicants with:
  • 3-5 years’ experience, and knowledge of Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Privacy and Security policies.
  • Knowledge of SOC 2 framework and MARS-E standards

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development;
OR
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development;
OR
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience.
