North Bend Medical Center is currently hiring a part time EKG technician. Located in Coos Bay Oregon along the beautiful Southern Oregon coast. North Bend Medical Center hosts over 100 providers in a variety of specialties and 400 employees.

Full Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of a physician, performs cardiac and respiratory procedures at technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment. Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures as required.
SIGNIFICANT DUTIES: Performs the following testing:
  • Perform EKG’s. and rhythm strips, in the department as well as in the Physician offices. Mount all procedures on appropriate forms.
  • Perform pulmonary function test with and without bronchodilators. Send the mounted results to the Physician.
  • Perform Holter monitor testing. This includes but is not limited to correctly applying the monitor, instructing the patient in keeping an accurate diary, scanning the tape and printing abnormalities, and mounting the results on appropriate forms.
  • Perform event monitor testing. This includes applying the monitor, instructing the patient in proper use of the monitor. The tech also determines if the strip needs to be interpreted by the ordering Physician or STAT by the doctor on call. Any troubleshooting regarding use or technical difficulty with the monitor is also handled by the tech.
  • Perform treadmills. Prepare the patient, instruct the patient prior to the Physicians’ arrival, assist during the testing, and perform recovery testing. Mount treadmill results on appropriate form.
  • Perform pulse oximetry with and without exercise. Record results on oximetry form. Perform all aspects of overnight oxygen saturation monitoring, including hook-up and scanning.
  • Perform aerosol treatments both in the department and portably as needed.
  • Performs oxygen saturation testing and overnight oxygen saturation testing.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain all necessary supplies in the department.
  • Maintain all equipment in the department.
  • Review and edit charge tickets at the end of the day.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
