POSITION:

The Community Services Rates Coordinator reports to the Director of Community Services. This position will be responsible for all tasks related to vendor rates in the Community Services Department. The Rates Coordinator will understand the rate application, rate structure, rate formulas, and implementation of regulatory rate adjustments.

NATURE OF WORK:

The State of California, Department of Developmental Services is implementing a multi-year, complex series of rate increases for regional center vendors. This position will be the point person in the Community Services Department for all work related to these rate increases. This person will also serve as a liaison between the Community Services and Fiscal Departments regarding vendor rates.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Accounting.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in accounting or business administration with 4 years of increasingly responsible accounting experience.
  • Minimum qualifications may be waived depending on the agency need for specialized skills (such as language abilities).
  • KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of accounting terminology, principles, practices and procedures and computerized spreadsheet skills (i.e. intermediate Excel). Ability to calculate figures, percentages and other complex formulas. Ability to analyze data and draw sound conclusions; prepare clear and concise written reports, make cogent verbal presentations. Excellent organizational skills and must be able to develop a course of action and follow through within time frames. Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity and an ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Fluency in a language in addition to English is desirable, and may be required.
  • Ability to provide personal automobile transportation, or access to another form of reliable transportation, during and after working hours. Provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law.
  • Flexibility in work hours is required to meet needs of the regional center constituency.
  • This position will be primarily based in the office, however, remote work may also occasionally be available.
