Anticipated vacancies exist for the 2024-2025 school year for 2 Gifted Teachers within the Norristown Area School District.

Qualifications:

• Pennsylvania Certification required
• Bachelor's degree in Education
• Experience as a gifted teacher preferred
• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required

Duties & Responsibilities

• Evidences planning which reflects objectives and activities
• Demonstrates the ability to organize for instruction
• Encourages students with appropriate reinforcement
• Designs or selects appropriate instructional modifications and strategies for gifted students and coordinates these activities with other teachers as appropriate
• Prepares, implements and evaluates an annual education plan for each student based on individually assessed needs in accordance with district procedures and state standards
• Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy, administrative regulations and gifted program plan
• Develops and monitors the modified strategies for the students in coordination with the basic and gifted teachers as appropriate
• Provides direct consultation to basic education teachers on how to implement strategies
• Participates on evaluation teams for gifted students as appropriate
• Provides specialized instruction to individual and small groups of gifted students when necessary to support learning the content areas
• Assists in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials
• Cooperates with school personnel in coordinating gifted services within that school
• Confers with basic education teachers as requested concerning any educational needs of students
• Serves as a resource person in gifted education for all district personnel

7.5 hrs /day

2024-2025 salary schedule

(Teachers contract is currently under negotiation) The rates below are the current rates:

Bachelor's - $51,733 to $57,899(Step 5)

Bachelor's 24 - $54,987 to $62,383(Step 5)

Master's - $58,074 to $66,699 (Step 5)

Master's 15 - $60,547 to $69,608(Step 5)

Master's 30 - $63,019 to $72,515 (Step 5)

Master's 45 - $63,484 to $72,999 (Step 5)

Doctorate/Master's 60 - $63,947 to $73,485 (Step 5)

Pay: $51,733.00 - $73,485.00 per year
