Position Summary:

Norfolk Crush is a facility that processes 110k bushels of soybeans daily into soybean oil, soybean meal, and soy hull pellets. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for determining and completing appropriate repairs in an efficient manner with the least affect upon production.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitor, repair, and maintain conveyance, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and soybean processing equipment.
• Perform welding, torch, and plasma cutting in order to complete various repairs.
• Complete daily paperwork including equipment inspection and location parts for other departments.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and complete repairs when appropriate.
• Maintain plant sanitation standards.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least five (5) years of soybean processing or ethanol plant experience.
• Ability to read and understand computer printouts and equipment specifications.
• Skilled in using hand tools and operating a forklift, bobcat, and end-loader.
• Knowledge of the general industry regulations and practices.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills along with the ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple work assignments.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

• Ability to frequently bend, squat, climb, sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach above shoulder level, use fine finger movements and push/pull.
• Ability to occasionally kneel.
• Ability to frequently carry/lift light to heavy loads of up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
