GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The position of the Special Education Paraprofessional is to support students within the general education classrooms so that they can access instruction and learning.Assist individuals or groups of students as needed or required in special education, academic, and vocational classes.Meets with special and regular education teachers to monitor the progress of special education students.Works with individual students to monitor progress and communicates with teachers and counselors on a regular basis regarding student progress on goals. Communicate with special education liaisons and related service providers to share information with parents as needed.Covers classes or X-block groups as needed. Assists with organizational tasks and paperwork.Collects observational and other data for use with Student Services staff.Assist regular teachers in classes with labs, classroom management, organizational skills, tutoring, and homework completion monitoring. Other duties as assigned.
