JOB SUMMARY:

The Gearbox Assembly Team Lead is responsible for working closely with the gearbox leadership team to improve the quality and efficiency of the Gearbox Assembly Department. The team lead works with the supervisor to ensure the department is achieving company goals, train the assemblers, and fosters a continuous improvement environment focused on process improvements in the assembly teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure proper training of employees assigned to the Gearbox Assembly Department.
• Assist employees in generating and implementing continuous improvement ideas.
• Observe work performed by team members to uncover opportunities for process improvement.
• Responsible for ensuring that all training is being tracked and updated in the training logs.
• Test units and troubleshoot problems associated with Gearbox Assembly.
• Check quality of work performed by employees assigned to the Gearbox Assembly Department.
• Train and root-cause QN’s, CAR’s and engineering changes and on regular basis.
• Work with supervisor to ensure company goals are being achieved.
• Provide input to supervisor for employee performance evaluations.
• Interface with supervisors, leads, and operators in other departments.
• Assist and support Gearbox Assembly Lead Trainer as directed by Supervisor.
• Be an active participant in the company’s suggestion, quality, efficiency, and cost savings programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical School degree strongly preferred. 

Experience:

• Three years of assembly experience in a production environment. Previous leadership experience preferred.

Skills and Key Attributes:

• Self-Motivated, demonstrated mechanical aptitude, good verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to lead other employees, use precision measuring equipment, and interpret blueprints.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to physically frequently stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for up to 10-12 hours per day.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
