Nodak Mutual Insurance Company is Hiring a Programmer Analyst Near Fargo, ND

SUMMARY
Applies standard programming procedures and knowledge of pertinent functional areas. Analyzes needs, designs, writes, and tests new programs and applications. Maintains and revises existing systems and provides technical assistance to users as well as to others in IT. Works according to approved requirements and detailed specifications. Applies judgment in devising program logic and selecting and adapting standard programming procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Experience with the IBM AS/400 and IBMi systems and the OS/400 Operating System
  • Experience writing and analyzing RPG/400, RPG/Free, and IBMi Control Language programs.
  • Experience writing and analyzing Data Description Specs, Subfiles, and interactive programming.
  • Knowledgeable in DB2/400, SQL, and MySQL.
  • Ability to analyze existing programs and formulate logic for new processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Change Management Systems.
  • Provides programming support for various interfaces.
  • Experience with Rational Developer for i.
  • Utilize Aldon Change Manage system to manage program changes.
  • Effectively test developed programs for accuracy. Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs. Troubleshoots and debugs existing code.
  • Develop program and system flowcharts.
  • Consult with clients to gather information regarding program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
  • Analyze define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
  • Understand program performance issues. Monitor the performance of programs after implementation.
  • Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
  • Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs.
  • Mentors, trains, develops and provides support to less experienced co-workers.
