    • You would be charged with handling complex pollution claims from coverage investigation and reserving through cleanup, cost share and recovery ranging from UST and AST leaks and motor vehicle spills to complex commercial contamination including coverage investigation, trigger and allocation analysis. The analyst is responsible to explain coverages and cleanup process to insureds, pursue other responsible parties, implement cost effective cleanup strategies.
    • The analyst would also be responsible for handling asbestos liability claims including investigation and coordination of coverage, management of external counsel and reinsurance reporting. Some responsibility for assumed reinsurance claims will be delegated.

    The Environmental Claims Analyst is part of a team charged with handling complex pollution claims from coverage investigation and reserving through cleanup, cost share and recovery ranging from UST and AST leaks and motor vehicle spills to complex commercial contamination including coverage investigation, trigger and allocation analysis. The analyst is responsible to explain coverages and cleanup process to insureds, pursue other responsible parties, implement cost effective cleanup strategies, pursue cost shares and subrogation recoveries, and to reserve and report to reinsurance. In addition, the analyst would also be responsible for handling asbestos liability claims including investigation and coordination of coverage, management of external counsel and reinsurance reporting. Some responsibility for assumed reinsurance claims will be delegated.

    This position is Hybrid and has the flexibility to be based out of NJM's West Trenton, Hammonton or Parsippany office.

    • Excellent communication skills and commitment to establish and maintain strong working relationships with insureds, claimants (including representatives of environmental agencies at county, state and federal levels), internal partners and stakeholders and external resources (contractors and consultants) and to prepare accurate reports including reinsurance reporting, actuarial reporting, clearly drafted reservations of rights and other claims communications and statements of coverage position.
    • Ability to work in partnership with internal and external counsel to establish litigation objectives and strategy and to manage costs.

    • Possession of state adjuster licenses is preferred.
    • Technical knowledge to review environmental cleanup proposals for viability, cost effectiveness and impact to insured and neighboring sites and to select and oversee consultants and contractors to achieve best outcome for insureds and satisfy applicable government cleanup standards, preferred.
    • Ability to work in electronic claim management system.
