Description

Job Summary
The Manager of Operations Support Services - Electric assumes a strategic position within NIPSCO Power Delivery. This pivotal role spearheads a dynamic team of ten professionals, dedicated to providing risk mitigation, visionary insights, and pursues relentless process optimization to our Local Operating Areas. This position requires an individual who demonstrates interpersonal skills, problem solving, analytical skills, and process improvement implementation skills. They will mentor local leadership and work with key stakeholders to facilitate the completion of accurate financial information associated with strategic operational activities.
Essential Functions

  • Implement robust governing structure to strengthen management control and ensure sustained organizational process enhancement.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in collaboration with operations management to implement initiatives that achieve financial and strategic objectives.
  • Establish and monitor cost performance metrics, overseeing the intricate overtime call-out process with precision and provide guidance on union cotracts.
  • Effective use of technology, project management tools and planning techniques to improve results.
  • Manage vigilant oversight of budgetary impacts, proactively recommending and implementing cost-effective alternatives to achieve optimal fiscal outcomes.
  • Manages, monitors and trains staff on the overtime call-out process of employees, ensuring accurate overtime charging, and reporting as well as provide guidance around Capital and O&M charges.
  • Manage Capital and Job Order packet processes within Electric, ensuring account coding and all required operational documentation needed for close out and reimbursement is provided.
  • Maintains awareness of decision-making impacts to the capital & O&M budgets and recommend best cost alternatives to meet budgetary constraints.
  • Lead and empowers a geographically dispersed workforce, championing functional consistency, process standardization, and implementing collaborative synergy
  • Cultivate a culture of strategic project management and meticulous planning, fostering internal customer satisfaction and cross functional collaboration.
  • Develop aligned, consistent, and automate quality processes and controls throughout the department.
  • Data collection advising, solid improvement for contractors and company employees.
  • Strong interaction between peer groups that promotes integration and adoption of best practices.
  • Lead team during major storm events, guiding data driven decisions, and ensuring meticulous compliance with operational and budgetary considerations.
  • Work with ESIS regarding outage related insurance claims.
  • Leads a qualified team of at least two or more full time employees and has the authority to hire, terminate, coach, develop, promote, demote and performance manage members of the team.
  • Stand in for absences ensuring the continuation of operations and seamless service delivery during periods of transition or absence.

Required Qualifications For Position

  • Bachelor's Degree Economics, Accounting, Finance or Business related discipline
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft 365
  • Experience in managing small to medium groups of resources with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Minimum of five years-experience in electric industry
  • Capital and O&M budgeting experience
  • Demonstrated facilitation skills High
  • Working knowledge of operations policies and procedures High
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills that result in clear, concise, and positive communications High
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills High
  • Valid driver's license
  • Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
  • Experiecne using Maximo, Workbrain, MAPPS, SAP, SalesForce or NetCadOps
  • Experience in Change Management
  • Working knowledge of NIPSCO Chart of Account High

Salary Range:

$107,000.00 - $160,500.00
