The Niskayuna Central School District has an anticipated opening and is now accepting applications for an Executive Secretary I
ASSIGNMENT: O&M Department - 12 months per year, 37.5 hours per week
GENERAL INFORMATION: This position involves responsibility for performing a variety of complex and confidential secretarial duties for a department head. An incumbent in this position is responsible for typing letters, reports and other confidential materials, and relieving the department head of administrative details by arranging conferences and contacts. The position of Executive Secretary I is a competitive Schenectady County Civil Service position. Candidates must meet Civil Service requirements for appointment. Candidates must currently hold the title of Executive Secretary I or be reachable on the Civil Service list when available. If list is not available, this will be a provisional appointment and the successful candidate must take the SCCSC exam and be reachable.
A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two-year college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science or a related field and two years of clerical experience, which shall have involved typing; OR
B. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four years of experience as defined in (A) above; OR
C. Six years of experience as defined in (A) above; OR
D. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined above.
