Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Data Platform team, you will design, build and support SQL and coding solutions critical to all aspects of our business. This position will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing SQL Server and ETL applications, as well as working to design and build our modern data lake platform and the data architecture strategies required to migrate our business workloads to the cloud. As a senior member of the Technology Solutions department, you will also lead design and code reviews while supporting and mentoring other team members. You will partner with members of NISA’s business departments to understand requirements, and design and refine solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a field requiring strong analytical and quantitative skills, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or Information Systems
• Minimum of five years of experience developing and supporting enterprise-grade solutions
• Extensive experience designing data models and implementing database solutions in SQL Server
• Experience developing with an object-oriented language, such as C# or Java
• Experience developing cloud native solutions, preferably in AWS and Databricks
• Experience working with source control and automated testing frameworks
• Interest in working with modern technologies, including containerization, etc.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, and front-end frameworks
• Previous professional experience in financial services sector preferred
• Experience developing in a statistical language, such as Python, MATLAB, R preferred
• Experience with automation and CI/CD practices and tooling, such as Azure Pipelines, Ansible, and Terraform preferred
