- Receiving inspection of purchased metal powders and components.
- Testing and control of manufactured powder mixes.
- Mechanical testing and chemical analysis of production components.
- Assist with metallographic preparation and cleanliness testing.
- Process monitoring: temperature profiling, gas analysis and supervision of burn-out effectiveness.
- Assist manufacturing engineers with the development and troubleshooting of the sinter process.
- Assist manufacturing engineers with the implementation and training of new procedures.
- Conduct continuous improvement activities focused on quality improvement, waste elimination and cost reduction.
- Perform small mechanical repairs.
- Research new equipment designs and materials.
- Perform all other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
- Basic math skills required.
- Personal computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel) required.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Effective interaction with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrate independent initiative.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Have a creative approach to problem solving.
- Receptive and supportive of change.
- Good eye / hand coordination required.
- Capable of performing job tasks in a deadline driven environment.
- Flexibility to alter work schedule for timely completion of tasks when necessary.
- Associates degree in a Technology discipline preferred, or high school diploma and equivalent experience
- Prior quality assurance / test technician experience preferred
- Ability to travel to vendor or customer sites
- Ability to speak and listen to express ideas
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 lbs without assistance
- Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with presswork, machine tools, oils, and chemicals
