Nichols Portland, LLC is Hiring an Accounting Specialist - AP Near Portland, ME
Summary/Objective
Work as a member of the finance/accounting team in the Portland facility with a primary focus on Accounts Payable
Essential Functions
Accounts Payable:
- Processing supplier invoices through the Plex ERP system
- Matching packing slips to invoices and obtaining proper approvals
- Manage the weekly supplier payment cycle
- Compliance with state sales tax laws
- Maintain supplier relationships by ensuring timely payments
- Maintain W9 records and supplier insurance certificates
- Quarterly sales tax filings
- Weekly spend reporting
Other:
- Advanced clerical work
- Adherence to month-end timeline
- Prepaid account management
- Miscellaneous projects
- Month-end closing procedures
- Annual 1099 and 1096 processing
Competencies
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Microsoft Office
- ERP system experience
Required Education and Experience
- Associates degree with a concentration in business/accounting preferred or 4 years of related experience
