Excellence Wanted.

About Us.

Nice-Pak is more than just a Nice Place to Work, and we owe it to our amazing team of nice people to ensure we are hiring new team members who can do more than just meet expectations. We aim to hire excellence.

At Nice-Pak, we manufacture products that touch (literally!) a person's every stage of life - from birth through adulthood into retirement - and worldwide! We are a leading manufacturer of wet wipes for major grocery, discount, drug, big box, and club membership retailers, and we care deeply about our associates and customers. We care about our environment, too, which is why we stand by our commitment to sustainably source our materials and support sustainable forestry through education and community engagement.

We live by our purpose of Helping our world stay healthy and well, and it’s important to us that each time we add someone to our Nice-Pak team, we do so with our purpose statement in mind so we can achieve a workforce as special as our customer base.

About the Job.

Why This Job is Important. The Corporate Project Engineer position is a leadership position that provides engineering services to our manufacturing operations. This important position is responsible for managing capital funded projects related to the manufacturing process and manufacturing facilities. This includes coordinating with all cross-functional teams, managing schedules, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and providing technical guidance to the team related to capital expenditures to ensure the business runs seamlessly every day. This job plays a big role in our efforts to ensure that our customers’ shelves stay full – and so their customers can buy the wipes they need for their baby, teenager, significant other or parent (or even their pet!) when they need to. It's a big deal.

Our best project engineers are masters of juggling many things at once and have knowledge of project management, engineering principles, and technical expertise in high-speed manufacturing processes, like project management methodologies techniques and tools, mechanical and electrical principles, secondary technical skills in CAD and programming languages, manufacturing regulations and standards, and problem-solving skills. We also prefer that our project engineers have experience leading teams and can communicate in a way that relates to people at all levels within the organization.

We expect our project engineers to be professional, results-oriented, and be able to engage within their teams and co-workers.

What You Can Expect. As a project engineer, you would be responsible for directing the daily activities of one or more capital projects related to manufacturing our wonderful wipes. You would lead and advise a team of people from different functions to assist you and count on you for daily leadership and overall project management. You also would work closely and partner with the cross-functional leaders from the Quality, Safety, Maintenance, and Warehouse departments.

Two key priorities are keeping employees safe and customers happy. It is critical that our project engineers are always anticipating challenges and meeting deadlines, providing economical solutions, and ensuring project success at the right time with the right quality and cost.

Reports, spreadsheets, emails, presentations, timekeeping, equipment and line drawings, factory acceptance testing, contractor managing, validation and qualifications, working on non-production hours, and meetings -- all these things might not be a lot of fun sometimes but have to get done. The project engineer communicates to leadership through regular meetings utilizing a broad range of project management tools, and other technical platforms to detail the successes and challenges the team is experiencing.

What We Expect from You in the Role.

  • You will prioritize safety and quality, above all things, always and in that order.
  • You must be a champion of Nice-Pak; we protect our people, products, and customers.
  • We expect you will always want to learn and grow and help others become better too. Continuous improvement and development are the name of the game.
  • A high school education and demonstrated leadership experience OR a bachelor’s degree in management (or another closely related field).
  • We need you to be able to follow directions, work independently, and determine when it's the right time to do which one.
  • We expect all of our project engineers to anticipate challenges and solve problems creatively.

Most days, there are meetings and desk work, which requires being able to sit for long periods of time. Sometimes, a project engineer may need to stretch, bend, squat, climb, or lift up to 25 pounds to complete a task. With over 760,000 square feet of combined production and warehouse space, our project engineers must be able to support the manufacturing operations by standing and walking throughout the entire facility. Our working conditions are free from unusual hazards or otherwise significantly unpleasant conditions –our production areas are extremely clean, and comfortably climate-controlled with the same temperature year-round! It also smells amazing on the production floor.
