Nice-Pak Products is Hiring a Production supervisor Near Jonesboro, AR

POSITION PURPOSE

This position will interact routinely with multiple levels of management within operations, planning, warehouse and logistical distribution, quality, maintenance, engineering and human resources.

Responsible to drive lean principles, implement and sustain continuous improvement projects, in the areas of Safety, Quality, waste reduction and productivity.

Plan, direct, coordinate and communicate all manufacturing related issues in accordance with SOP’s and cGMP’s in order to achieve product performance objectives and exceed productivity goals.

Responsible for the training and development of Associates, and ensuring that all required certifications are complete and current.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Leadership

  • Responsible for continuous improvement processes to include projects, initiatives, process implementation, and problem solving processes for manufacturing associates and equipment.
  • Responsible for training and development of all skilled associates. Assuring all training is current and effective.
  • Responsible for the operations and production results of the facility to include : goal achievement, problem solving coordination, establishment of shift priorities and achievement of production results.
  • Ensure the accurate completion of required documentation per prescribed SOP’s and cGMP’s.
  • Develop a collaborative and effective interface with all site resources as listed in the scope.
  • Develop, train and mentor Line Coordinators and operators through regular feedback, participation in group decision-making, open communication and setting priorities.
  • Provide leadership and direction in Safety, Quality, and Productivity through the use of continuous improvement process.
  • Maintain a tour ready facility at all times.
  • Provide support in the absence of the Value Stream Manager.
  • Develop and maintain a respectful relationship with all plant personnel that creates a positive world class working culture.
  • Report to the Value Stream Manager any information, which goes beyond daily operational issues. Maintain communications regarding efficiencies, downtime, quality, issues, employee relations concerns, scheduling conflicts or any other information that affects the success of the operation.
  • Communicate urgent job scheduling issues with the Scheduling Department.
  • Investigate and report all accidents and near misses that occur on the line. Implement preventative action to address every accident in order to prevent it from happening again or reduce the risk significantly.
  • Direct the work activities of the line personnel and allocate the necessary resources in order to meet daily production standards.
  • Maintain time and attendance records in UltiPro.

REPORTING & ANALYSIS :

  • Evaluate job performance of Line Coordinators and assist in the mentoring and development of core teams.
  • Ensure compliance to company policies, cGMP's and SOP’s.
  • Ensure accuracy of department production reporting. Verify daily / weekly results and communicate to all associates.
  • Actively participate in required training classes.
  • Along with Supervision / Management evaluate employee performance during their probationary and / or assessment period.

Take steps to improve the results of the respective shift and greater team.

  • Meeting and exceeding product quality (FPQ)
  • Meeting and exceeding waste reduction percentages
  • Ensuring direct reports have been cross functionally trained with excellence.
  • Performance measurements include Safety Incidents, First Pass Quality, OEE and waste percentages and dollars

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

  • Meeting and exceeding equipment efficiencies (OEE)
  • Meeting and exceeding product quality (FPQ)
  • Meeting and exceeding waste reduction percentages

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION :

BS in Engineering, Management or Operations or equivalent experience preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE : Lean principles

Lean principles

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

1 year of supervisory experience preferred

SKILLS / ABILITIES :

Hands-on knowledge of production systems, project management, leadership skills, influence skills, root cause analysis, SPC concepts, team leadership, ability to self-generate improvement ideas and take into action, Windows operating systems.
