Occupational Summary:

This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of first piece, in-process and final inspection duties on all machined parts and assemblies, following standard practices.

Essential Functions:

  • Work from blueprints, drawings, process sheets, as well as written and verbal instructions.
  • Work with precision measuring instruments such as gauges.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspection of all machined parts involving numeric control, working with close and liberal tolerances.
  • Perform visual inspection as well as using precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform floor inspections, checking parts at various intervals.
  • Reject, tag parts, prepare and maintain defective parts records and reports.
  • Verify calibrations of gauges and related inspection equipment and supplies.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and conform to OSHA regulations.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as necessary to maintain area in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Perform other duties as directed or required.

Requirements:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a machine shop environment is required.
  • Knowledge of SPC, ISO 9001, and a variety of sample plans is required.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment, including (but not limited to) gauges.
  • CMM, Contour Tracer and Profilometer knowledge desirable.

Job Skills/Abilities:

  • This individual will be responsible for setting up a wide variety of inspection equipment.
  • Successful candidates must be detail oriented and have good manual dexterity and flexibility.
  • Must be quality conscious, detail oriented and have a solid work history.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization.
  • The ability to work independently or as part of a small team is a must.
  • All positions require successful completion of a pre-hire drug screen and background check.

2nd shift

The ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
