NFI Massachusetts is Hiring a Youth Counselor Near Amesbury, MA

NFI Massachusetts Inc., a non-profit human services agency, is currently seeking full time, part time, per diem, Youth Counselors/Direct Care Staff for its residential program in Amesbury, MA.

Our residential programs work with youth who are in need of temporary out-of-home placement. Youth Counselors/Direct Care Staff provide support and supervision which includes life skills support, social and interpersonal skill development and community engagement. The goal is to provide youth with mentoring, guidance and to demonstrate positive role modeling so they may elect healthier choices to and learn new skills to use upon their discharge from the residential program.

Hourly Rate: $22.00/hr

Overtime opportunities available.

Youth Counselors/Direct Care Staff are responsible for:

  • Provide direct care and support to all youth in the program.
  • Helping youth develop life skills and social competencies.
  • Mentoring.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of the youth served.
  • Demonstrating positive role modeling so they may elect healthier choices to and learn new skills to use upon their discharge from the program. 
  • Facilitate healthy and therapeutic recreational activities.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with adolescent population.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a current, valid, US drivers' license.

Benefits for full time employees include: Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, 403(b) Retirement Plan, 3 weeks paid vacation time, Paid Sick Leave and Tuition reimbursement up to $2500 per fiscal year.
