OUTSIDE PARTS SALES REPRESENTATIVE - Denver, CO & Colorado Springs, CO

Wage: $60,000-$90,000/year based upon education, knowledge and yrs. of experience

We provide cell phone and vehicle allowance, computer, gas card, etc.

Work Hours: Monday – Friday

As an Outside Sales Representative, you are a valued member of our team!

Summary: Solicits parts business for new and assigned accounts through various contacts. You will be maintaining accounts in various areas that will be assigned in the vicinity that you are located in and/or nearby.

Essential Duties

  • Visits, develops and maintains relationships with existing customers.
  • Identify and establish contact with potential new customers
  • Attend industry trade shows to identify potential sales leads and make meaningful contact with current and/or future customers
  • Recommend marketing strategies to target a specific region or demographic
  • Generate and submit sales reports to management
  • Communicates parts orders to counter people. Advises whether status is stock or emergency.
  • Checks with customers to ensure that delivery date of non-stock items is acceptable before ordering.
  • Reviews any special orders with the parts manager and obtains his/her approval.
  • Obtains parts manager's approval for any special pricing.
  • Advises counterperson on delivery instructions.
  • Follow up on parts orders to ensure that customers have been served properly.
  • Coordinates service sales with service salespeople.
  • Turns in completed call reports, time sheets and expense reports.
  • Updates customer records to reflect changes to customers' names, addresses etc.
  • Adds new customers to appropriate mailing lists.
  • Attend training seminars when possible.
  • Acts as a public relations liaison for the company.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma and/or general education degree (GED); plus one to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
  • Three years (minimum) of
    • automotive / parts counter sales experience and/or
    • outside parts sales experience and/or
    • service technical support experience
  • Microsoft Word and Excel skills

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
