Position Summary : ESC is seeking dynamic, energetic, and driven individuals to join our business and industry. This program will teach you about the exciting opportunities in the electrical distribution industry, and the relationship between distributors, electrical contractors, general contractors, architects, lighting designers, and building owners. Additionally, you’ll learn how the supply chain (product manufacturers and their representation agencies) interact with a distributor to support the construction industry.

While other direct-hire after graduation (Jump Start) opportunities focus on one particular part of the business, here at ESC we work with our Jump Start employees to support the development exposure to various parts of the business to custom tailor a Jump Start experience that meets your individual interests and strengths.

Responsibilities in Sales :

  • COUNTER SALES: Service customers at one of our 4 counter locations; engage, interact, and upsell walk-in and will-call customers; learn product and product systems; develop sales techniques to build a customer base and depth.
  • INSIDE SALES: Customer service and proactive outbound phone, text, and digital selling; upselling and solution selling to our wide base of delivery customers; stock quotations and negotiation.
  • PROJECT SALES: Learn the project sales cycle, quotation to project closeout; sell, negotiate and close lighting and distribution equipment packages, track and manage via our suite of digital tools.
  • OUTSIDE SALES: Develop and grow new and assigned contractor accounts in assigned territories, selling the entire suite of ESC capabilities, offerings, and differentiators either in person or virtually; track progress and sales activities via our Customer Relationship Management software

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred

Experience: Some Professional Employment Experienced

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of CRM software preferred

  • Strong organizational skills and a process-oriented approach toward uncovering opportunities and improving efficiency
  • Demonstrates a sense of focused and action-orientated approach as well as the ability to create a sense of urgency
  • Ability to concentrate your efforts on the most important priorities, moving quickly through issues, and driving for completion
  • Comfort and natural ability to find the optimal balance between speed, accuracy, and quality in the work you deliver
  • Polished, professional, comfortable and articulate communication & presentation style
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to ask the right questions and know when more information is needed
  • Demonstrates a sense of honesty and empathy, with the ability to see the world through the customer's eyes
  • Independent, self-reliant, team member with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions :

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
