POSITION SUMMARY Mobile Data Technologies is seeking a Flex Service Technician to ensure excellent customer service by delivering expert on-site installation and service. Reporting to the Support Supervisor, the role will identify and resolve technical issues during customer visits, providing efficient solutions to minimize equipment downtime. Additionally, they will offer comprehensive technical support through telephone, email, and remote access, maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and operational continuity. Key Accountabilities
Installation and Configuration:
System Preparation: Conduct site surveys, coordinate with project teams.
Software Installation and Network Integration: Install and configure necessary software, update firmware and control systems software.
Testing and Calibration: Perform functional and load testing, calibrate sensors, PIDs, and tune system settings for optimal performance.
Post-Installation Support: Provide initial technical support, troubleshoot issues, and schedule follow-up assessments to ensure continued system performance.
Service Management:
Manages and organizes service trips within CRM.
Maintains accurate client asset/product data, including serial numbers, specifications, and maintenance history.
Manages tickets, cases, and coordinates service trips.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
Provides on-site and remote technical support via telephone and email.
Conducts troubleshooting and root cause analysis on MDT products.
Configures and tests communication equipment, including LAN/WIFI networks, cell modems, and radio modems.
Tests and calibrates products post-repair.
Customer Interaction and Relationship Building:
Acts as a direct representative of MDT, upholding company’s image.
Builds relationships with customers and local builders to enhance MDT's reach and customer relations.
Coordinates effectively with all company departments.
Project Assessment and Implementation:
Conducts on-site assessments for project review and kickoff.
Collaborates with clients to establish project objectives and provide recommendations.
After-Hours Support:
Participates in on-call and on-service rotations during weekends and after hours to provide continuous support.
Enhances customer satisfaction and minimizes equipment downtime.
Technical Innovations and Maintenance:
Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
Training and Development:
Develops, supports, and executes internal training programs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical Skills:
Able to follow General Assembly drawings.
Skilled in reading and understanding schematics and electrical documents.
Mechanically inclined with problem-solving capabilities.
Electrical/electronic background beneficial.
Proficient with computer systems; required experience with Windows XP/7/10 and Microsoft Office 2007/2013 (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote).
Programming knowledge in C#, C , JSON, REST JAVA is an asset.
Familiarity with relational and/or time series databases (mySQL, Big Query, Influx) advantageous.

Minimum Required Education
H.S. Diploma is Required
Electronics Technology is Preferred
Information Technology is Preferred
Instrumentation is Preferred
Minimum Required Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in the electrical field, oil and gas industry that includes installation, maintenance and/or repair
Required Licenses and Certifications
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
License to drive commercial vehicles.
Valid Passport for North American Travel (Ability to get it)
Language Comprehension Ability to understand and speak English at a level of proficiency allowing employees to issue, receive and respond to both safety and operations-related directions in English.
