Clinical Communications Advocate

Job Description:

The Clinical Communications Advocate at Next Level Medical is responsible for providing telephone triage, support, and guidance to patients and stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Director of Communications, this role plays a critical part in delivering timely and accurate clinical advice while upholding our core values of Service-Excellence, Teamwork, Integrity, Innovation, and Compassion.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls from patients, assess their symptoms and concerns, and provide appropriate clinical guidance, support, and education
  • Utilize clinical decision-making tools and established protocols to triage patient calls, and direct patients to the appropriate level of care or medical professional
  • Document all patient interactions and relevant information in the organization's electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Collaborate with internal clinical teams to ensure seamless care coordination, and escalate concerns or complex cases to the appropriate medical professionals
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay informed about industry best practices, clinical updates, and policy changes
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization's clinical communication processes and procedures by providing feedback and insights to the Director of Communications

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with an active and unencumbered license
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in a primary care, urgent care, or emergency department setting
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and telephone triage skills
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
