JOB TITLE: ASSEMBLER

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Operations
SCHEDULE: Weekends (Saturday and Sunday), 1st Shift (Time to be advised)

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs repetitive workstation assembly operations to produce finished bearing products. Maintains safe, organized, and clean work areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs assembly function using necessary hand or power tools.
Operates overhead cranes.
Interprets list bill of materials, verifies the accuracy of parts, and inspects all parts before assembly. Reports any management problems.
Follows process instructions.
Records data from inspections.
Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
Performs inspection of machined products and documents results as appropriate.
Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

An ideal candidate for this position has basic math skills with the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, knowledge of basic handheld measuring tools, and the ability to read and interpret bills of materials.
Must be able to follow directions well and understand simple written instructions, memos, and standard operating procedures.
An ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to perform daily tasks with minimal direct supervision, a strong sense of responsibility to the job concerning attendance, and good judgment to know when to ask questions.
Must also understand that working safely, and following company guidelines and policies on safety, are a requirement for the job.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

An ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in machining and the metal removal industry.
A good attendance record, performance record, and ability to work well with others are necessary.
Must be able to use a forklift and be certified.
