• In this role, you will be responsible for performing precision machining operations using various machines and tools, including lathes, mills, horizontal and vertical machining centers, and EDMs.
• Your expertise in machine operation and machining processes will be invaluable.
• You will work on projects that may involve large parts and weldments, and your ability to read and comprehend complex mechanical drawings and blueprints is essential.

• Safety: Maintain a strong focus on safety and adhere to OSHA standards. Attend safety training as required.
• Machining: Operate manual and numerical controlled machines, including lathes, mills, and EDMs. Proficiency with controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, Acramatic, Cincinnati-Milacron is preferred.
• Precision: Use precision measuring instruments like outside/inside micrometers, depth mics, and verniers to ensure accurate machining.
• Complex Drawings: Comprehend complex mechanical drawings and blueprints to carry out machining tasks.
• Math Skills: Utilize strong math skills to make precise measurements and calculations.
• Tooling: Familiarity with threading, drilling, tapping, and carbide machining processes.

• Leased Labor Provider Company (LLPC) is required to provide employees with specific safety training and medical clearance.
• The Leased Labor Provider Company must submit documentation of training, records, medical clearances, etc., on Company Letterhead to Newport News Environmental, Health and Safety Department (O27) for review and approval before assigning employees to work at Newport News.
• Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment):
• All Personal Protective Equipment is to be provided by the Leased Labor Provider Company and must meet OSHA and ANSI requirements.
• This includes safety glasses, hard hats, hearing protection, and audiometric testing.

• Experience with Horizontal Boring Mills and Vertical Milling Machines, including Bridge/Gantry type mills with multiple head attachments, is essential.
• Experience with large machining (parts up to 30 feet in length) and large weldments is preferred. Knowledge of multiple axis machining, such as 3 2 or 5-axis, is helpful.

• With the increased demand for remote work, employees working offsite must adhere to the Leased Labor Flexible Office Agreement Request procedure, ensuring proper signature approvals are obtained before working at an alternate non-NNS location.
• For employees with Foreign Nationals in their household, O15 Security Compliance will evaluate the request for approval/denial.
