You will be responsible for a section including administration, planning and development of new techniques, assays and methods, technical guidance, staff training, development of new and more complicated procedures. Coordinates a wide variety of technical activities to ensure efficient operation. Essential Job Duties

Consults with and keeps manager and director informed of activities, needs and problems. Organizes, and coordinates all technical functions and activities of the section.

Performs qualitative and quantitative tests using various methods, procedures and instruments. Maintains and calibrates equipment as needed. Oversees QC and QA programs and reports results per established protocol. Generates various reports in order to detect pending specimens, errors, trends and other exceptions as appropriate.

Required:

• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologists License from New York Education Department

• Minimum of 6 years clinical laboratory experience with Bachelors Degree or 4 years of experience with a Master’s degree or 2 years of experience with a Ph.D.

• Excellent technical skills, including product development and training skills

• Cognitive ability to develop and troubleshoot sophisticated analytical procedures
