Cellular Therapy Laboratory Technologist - Full Time - Days

At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, we set the standards for our field.

This role will allow you to gain experience working between research and clinical work, as our Cellular Therapy Lab is participating in some of our most exciting clinical trials at our institution. 

Perform processing of Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell products and other cellular therapy products using aseptic technique and technical duties in all laboratory sections including Pancreatic Islet Cell processing and cryopreservation of Parathyroid tissue. 

Maintain complete, accurate, legible, neat, organized, up-to-date records/logs/files while assuring the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures. Conduct routine and advanced equipment maintenance while upkeeping safety of the laboratory, assuring a clean, adequately supplied work area.

Ensure adequate inventories of reagents and supplies plus organize the physical environment of the laboratory in accordance with New York State DOH, CAP, FACT, OSHA and CLIA regulations.

This is a day shift position working Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm plus occasional weekends as needed.

Preferred Criteria

• Blood Bank and/or Cellular Therapy experience
• ASCP certification

Required Criteria

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or equivalent curriculum
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist from New York Education Department or eligibility for restricted license in Cellular Therapy
