NewSchool of Architecture and Design is Hiring a Director of Financial Aid Near San Diego, CA

Position Title:Director of Financial Aid

Salary:$90,000 - $120,000

Position OverviewThe Director of Financial Aidwill oversee financial aid department. The Director is responsible for the overall administration of all financial aid programs, ensuring compliance with federal Title IV and state regulations and institutional policies and procedures, and providing oversight of third-party vendors. This person will serve as a strategic partner and collaborative leader for developing financial aid budgets and scholarship programs. The Director of Financial Aid will report directly to the President.

Responsibilities

  • Managing, interpreting, and applying the administration of all Federal, State, and Institutional financial aid programs.
  • Implementing new programs and regulatory changes as required.
  • Documenting and maintaining internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Developing, implementing, and ensuring correct action plans are followed.
  • Managing all Federal Title IV, State, and Institutional funds, including budgets, allocations, and reconciliations of both Colleges.
  • Overseeing all enrollment reporting in NSLDS, COD, NSC, and CampusVue to ensure accuracy of the data and compliance with all federal regulations.
  • Ensuring awarding guidelines are compliant and all R2T4 calculations are completed.
  • Responsible for all required returns and/or post-withdrawal disbursements are processed in compliance with Federal and State programs.
  • Developing and maintaining disclosures, generating required reports for timely submission, and providing feedback, and guidance on current program standing.
  • Partnering with the Offices of Enrollment Management and Finance for forecasting, planning, budgeting, and defining institutional expenditures to ensure optimal financial aid strategies that best meet the needs of students.
  • Leading annual third-party SFS audits, compiling data, overseeing the on-site visit, and ensuring on-time and accurate submissions.
  • Serves as the institution’s key holder for all financial aid internal and external reporting and responsible for ensuring all submissions are completed timely and accurately.
  • Collaborating with the Dean of Admissions and Registrar on the strategic planning for the allocation of financial aid resources and retention goals are met annually.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Required 5 plus years of knowledge and experience in Financial Aid Services in positions of increasing responsibility, culminating in a position similar to the one being advertised.
  • Comprehensive understanding Title IV, FERPA, federal, and state student financial aid regulations including eligibility, application requirements, other funds, grant, scholarship, loan management processes law, and policies. and other compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, methodologies, and procedures for the needs of student financial aid to all types of academic programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven record of accuracy.
  • Exceptional customer service, verbal communication, and writing skills.
  • Experience working CampusVue, Banner, PowerFAIDS, or other related software.
  • Bilingual language is a plus.
