PROCESS & QUALITY ENGINEER

Department Technical and Quality Control

Primary technical responsibility for the Extrusion and Manufacturing area of the plant, and requires strong collaboration with peers.

This position requires flexibility to rotate shifts when required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Lead Extrusion Operators, Material Handlers and Shift Supervisor to ensure product quality and production objectives are met. Monitor and improve manufacturing process and production efficiency.
• Able to perform QC tasks as required during production.
• Troubleshooting issues associated with manufacturing process.
• Work with Production group to prepare and stage the line before production. Identify and resolve potential issues (raw materials, equipment, operator-related) to minimize down time and lost in production efficiency.
• Provides thorough instructions for successful implementation of standard operating procedures. This includes ongoing process improvement.
• Develop and document new procedures where required.
• Continuous monitoring of new process changes and/or procedures. Undertake process data collection and analysis.
• Maintain, analyze and disseminate process engineering data to the wider group, including operators and Supervisors.
• Manage NCR/CAR logs and reports. Assist in maintaining and improving Quality Manual and SOPs.
• Other assigned technical and QC-related tasks.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Chemistry-related programs.
• Proven work experience as Process Engineer / Chemist is an added advantage.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience working.
• Self-starter.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to project manage and collaborate with other team members and vendors.
• Proficiency in speaking and writing in Spanish is an added advantage.
• Reports to Production Manager and Lead Process Engineer
