The position is based in our Rochester, NY location and has the potential to be a hybrid work from home/in-office role. We are looking for an exceptional HR Generalist to support the Optical Components Business (OCB) and the Power Solutions Operations team in Rochester, NY. In this important role, you will serve as the key HR point of contact. You will also be a vital member of the MKS HR team, ensuring consistency in our HR practices and balance advocating for the business, employees, and managers. In this role you will: Be a trusted advisor and influencer to our OCB leadership and the management team, by providing candid and unbiased counsel to create an interactive partnership, and building trust and credibility to influence talent, organization, engagement and leadership decisions. Leverage your honed HR generalist skills and will be responsible for driving all HR programs, projects and activities, advising and guiding managers and employees on such matters as performance management, employee relations, development planning, diversity, equity and inclusion, training, immigration/visa matters, HR process improvement, HR metrics/reporting, candidate interviewing and selection and more. Serve as the day-to-day HR contact for local management and employees to address questions and issues that arise, providing sound HR guidance and counsel in a responsive and timely manner Partner with our HR Centers of Excellence (e.g. total rewards/benefits, talent acquisition, talent and org development, communications) in support of HR programs, projects and activities, and serve as the liaison for the site employee population ensuring that a high-quality level of service is provided. Support our company’s efforts in ensuring company policies and practices are in compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and procedures, including record keeping, policy statements, non-discriminatory practices, regulation compliance, affirmative action, etc. Develop an understanding of our business beyond the HR function and influence the local organizations to ensure superior operations and business outcomes. What will you bring to the team, along with your passion for being an indispensable HR Business Partner is: A bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience as an HR Generalist, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. Effective communication skills with the ability to persuade stakeholders, peers, and management Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills Solid HR Generalist skills Knowledge of HRIS systems, Workday preferred High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) strongly desired Knowledge of State and Federal laws impacting employment and ability to interpret and apply applicable laws and regulations Globally, our policy is to recruit individuals from wide and diverse backgrounds.
