Installer – Carpenter

Empire Door and Glass is looking to add a carpenter to our team in Minneapolis, MN. We are proud to be a family-owned business for over 40 years, providing personalized service and customized solutions for maintenance, managers and building owners. We specialize in all types of window glass, screens, storefront aluminum entry systems, mirrors, bifold and bypass closet doors, steel doors, hollow core doors and fire doors.

DUTIES & OUTLOOK

Ideal candidates will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities to: Collaborate well and must work independently, strong communication skills, Self-managed on the job style and the ability to routinely organize priorities to which include but not limited to the following items.

• People skills – Ability to talk and interact with customers during and after job completion
• Basic service knowledge & problem solving ability for security, replacement or rehab projects.
• Attention to detail during install.
• Communicate with sales team and other installers.
• Work in a timely fashion to complete work orders
• Knowledge and ability to use hand tools such as drill, skill-saw, table saw, multi-tool, chop saw and etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Willingness to train and learn new things
• Uphold quality of work to expected standards
• Determine installation processes for windows, doors, aluminum entries, steel entries, glass and hardware.
• Installation solutions that match customer expectations outlined on work order
• Adapts production specifications to the installation requirements, utilizing a thorough knowledge of products available.
• Confirms details with the sales team to assure customer expectations are in alignment with product features, options and installation process.
• Provides feedback to scheduling when needed.
• Troubleshoot issues with installation and provide possible solution to sales.
• Open to learning new things
• Team player with a can do attitude
• Reports timely each day to work & job sites per schedule
• Communicate and call ahead if when issues arise or delays present inability to stay on schedule with jobs or work schedule.

REQUIREMENTS

• Maintain timely attendance and communication
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Industry knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to climb ladders, stairs, and kneel.
• Able to lift push pull up to but not limited to 100lbs
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn new things.'

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
