Description
Essential Job Functions:
· Performs minor repairs on electrical equipment and machinery and to buildings and facilities, including painting, plastering, carpentry, plumbing, or electrical power.
· Performs maintenance, repair or replacement of broken parts as needed.
· Keeps work areas orderly, clean and safe. Ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.
· Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
· Completes assignments in timeframes established by hospital and departmental standards.
· Ability to set up drill press, grinder, and other tools to make or repair parts as required.
· Participates in preventive maintenance program.
· Keeps all documentation current, legible and accurate.
· Follows up on inspections, repairs and installations until project is properly completed.
· Demonstrates the ability to observe mechanical devices (pumps, motors, engines, etc.) in operation and diagnose any malfunction or problems.
· Cleans, lubricates and adjusts equipment and/or parts as required.
· Regularly starts or tests performance of equipment.
· Demonstrates ability to organize and achieve quality performance in new routines, procedures, and skills in the function of a mechanic.
· Ability to safely and effectively use the following equipment:
o Drill Press
o Grinder
o Electric Saws
o Router
o 501 Tester
o Safety Analyzer 170
· Boiler Start Up and Shut Down
· Chiller Start Up
Surgery Chiller Start Up and Shut Down
Requirements
Education:
· Graduate of high school; trade or vocational school with job related courses or completion of apprenticeship or on-the-job training in maintenance field.
Personal:
· Works effectively with others.
· Willingness to work under supervision; willing to assume responsibility for the supervision of others.
· Conforms to established dress code policy. Always neat and in appropriate business attire.
Experience:
· Specialty journeymen such as Electrician, Pipefitting, Boilermaker, etc. desirable.
