Description

Under the direction of the Meals Coordinator, performs janitorial/custodial maintenance of the Newaygo County Commission on Aging, public and administration areas, as well as the commercial kitchen.

Examples of Duties

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential custodial duties. These examples do not include all of the duties which the employee may be expected to perform. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

• Under the direction of the Meals Coordinator, responsible for maintaining a clean work environment for staff and visitors.
• Responsible maintaining a clean environment in the commercial kitchen.
• Cleans building by emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning surfaces.
• Regularly cleans and disinfects sinks, faucets, urinals, stools, and other fixtures in restrooms.
• Restocks all restrooms with towels, tissue, and soap as needed.
• Cleans and disinfects windows, doors and glass partitions.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Conducts safety checks to ensure all doors and windows are locked and building is secure before departure.
• On a routine basis dust walls, ceilings, air vents, and light fixtures.
• Performs all other duties required as assigned by the Meals Coordinator.

Typical Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Work independently within established procedures and policies.
• Must have the ability to work from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
• All offers of employment are contingent upon passing pre-employment background check, physical and drug screening which includes marijuana.
