New York Medical College is Hiring an Educational Coordinator Near Valhalla, NY

Overview

This position will primarily support the medical student activities for Emergency Medicine based out of Metropolitan Hospital as the primary affiliate rotation site. This position will work with the Medical Student Director, the Chairman and Vice Chairs of the Department of Emergency Medicine. Candidates for this position should be personable, organized, detail-oriented and proactive. They should also possess problem-solving capabilities to help mitigate issues as they arise. As the majority of students rotate through Emergency Medicine, it is necessary to have this position available to help streamline and standardize students’ clinical experiences and foster relationships, which will result in the continuous improvement of this experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative support to the Chairman and Student Clerkship Director to coordinate student rotations in Emergency Medicine at multiple clinical sites. This includes: ensuring timely onboarding and OHS clearance of students, coordinating orientation scheduling and conducting tours at the Metropolitan site, scheduling at Metropolitan and Harlem sites, verifying attendance on shifts and weekly conference, coordinating scheduling and locations of student didactics, ensuring timely completion of student shift evaluations, submitting completed student evaluations to the medical schools.
  •  Liaison with the students, faculty and leadership to determine opportunities for continuous improvement of this educational experience.
  •  Liaison between the medical school and hospital affiliate sites where these rotations and electives occur.
  • Assist with all aspects of student research activities of the department
  • Coordinate and assist with Foundations of Clinical Medicine Student as well as Emergency Medicine Summer Program shadowing shifts
  • Liaison with Department Administrator & Dean’s Office for UME, Faculty affairs, and business matters for the department
  • Other projects/tasks as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    (A) Education requirement: Bachelor’s

    (B) Licenses or certifications: None

    (C) Technical/computer skills: Basic administrative skills including Microsoft Office, email, video conferencing troubleshooting

    (D) Prior experience: Ideally experience in a medical school / hospital affiliate educational program

    (E.) Other skills/requirements: excellent communication and organizational skills
