Marine Electrical Technician

Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of marine shipboard AC/DC electrical systems with trouble shooting experience
• Basic knowledge of passenger vessel electronic components to include VFD’s, governors and wheelhouse electronics
• Knowledge and experience to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various electrical system, controls, and equipment either onboard vessels or in shipyard facilities
• Familiar with rules and regulation pertaining to shipboard power, distribution, and control
• Must be able to communicate well and be capable of reading basic electrical blueprints
• Use power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment
• Direct or train other employees to put in, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures

Requirements:

• 5 or more year of general marine machinery maintenance and repair
• Able to work with little or no supervision
• Able to stand, lift, crouch, and work in confined spaces for long periods
• NYS driver’s license a plus
