Responsibilities

This position provides support to LFKRI research community utilizing confocal Microscopy, analytical flow cytometry and fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS).

  • Well-experienced in Confocal Microscopy specially in the Zeiss LSM880 model.
  • Need to monitor and troubleshoot Confocal Zeiss LSM880 for proper functionality.
  • Train users for Cofocal Zeiss LSM800.
  • Performing daily instrumentation quality control and weekly and monthly cleaning protocols on analytical flow cytometers and Advia2120i hematology system
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting flow instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Maintaining and operating BD FACSAria Fusion and BD FACS Symphony S6 cell sorters.
  • Communicate instrument issues to the vendors and help coordinating service calls.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to users.
  • Maintaining and ensuring accurate and legible records
  • Ability to adhere to lab’s practices and procedures.
  • Performing general lab organization, including lab supply inventories and orders.

Qualifications

Education:

  • BS or higher in biological sciences or related field, or higher.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2-years experience in Confocal Microscopy Zeiss LSM880 is required.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in a research or clinical lab. Experience handling primary samples, tissue culture and using microscopes is required

Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $68,000.00 p/yr. to $78,000.00 p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.

Unless otherwise specified, all posted opportunities are located in the New York or Greater Tri-State office locations.
