This position is responsible for the maintenance of all mechanical systems. Coordinates, interprets, maintains, and repairs facility equipment, including but not limited to switch gear, panel boards, distribution, lighting, and lighting control equipment, plumbing systems, and HVAC systems.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Five years (or plus) of related experience in operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Licenses / Certifications:
Certifications in refrigeration are preferred, but not required.
Westchester County certifications or licenses a plus.
Any other certification is a plus.
Knowledge:
Basic MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge of Building Management & Control Systems.
Skills & Abilities:
Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders), and safely install rigging/lifting devices.
Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
Ability to visually inspect machinery and detect emergency alarms and alarm conditions.
Ability to inspect equipment located on roofs or other high places.
Ability to respond 24/7 to building emergencies.
Strong attention to detail in all work processes.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed hourly salary is $43.00 p/hr to $48.13 p/hr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
