Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 Salary/year

Description

ALBERT HOTEL is hiring for an HR MANAGER! Albert Hotel is located on a three-acre site from 242 to 248 East Main Street, Fredericksburg, TX. The hotel itself is tucked away from Main Street located behind the original historic buildings, creating a peaceful escape offering quiet sophistication just off bustling Main Street. The hotel will have 110 guest rooms, including bunkrooms, suites, and a private house, and each room will have tailored amenities, custom-designed furniture, and little extras to make guests feel at home. The property has three restaurants, one bar, a private dining room, and will offer in-room dining. Guests can enjoy the inviting outdoor lagoon-style pool, a fitness center, and a 2,000 sq. foot full-service spa. The property is ideal for hosting events, with a 3,600 square-foot event space and a 1,200 square-foot mezzanine deck and event lawn.

What you’ll do: 

  • Respond to internal and external Human Resource related inquiries or requests and assist as needed
  • Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, benefits, personal information, leaves of absence, progressive discipline, etc.) in the organization’s HRIS system and ensure all employment requirements are met
  • Act as a liaison in conjunction with corporate HR departments or functions (recruiting, payroll, benefits, etc.) 
  • Hold teams accountable for the policies presented in the Employee Handbook; execute disciplinary action and conduct investigations as needed
  • Support the recruitment and hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, issuing offers of employment, informing team members of new hires, etc. 
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure open positions are tracking to budget and conduct salary wage surveys as needed
  • Build strong relationships with internal leaders and talent pipelines; collaborate with local schools and organizations and develop ideas to ensure a diverse candidate pool
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, team agendas, and HR events including job fairs; ensure the successful execution of employee-related events
  • Ensure performance discussions are conducted properly and timely
  • Oversee the onboarding process and update new hire records as needed; coordinate and perform new hire orientation
  • Ensure employees are developed and utilized to their maximum potential by monitoring performance and training programs; evaluate and implement training programs as needed
  • Assign and perform exit interviews
  • Maintain worker’s compensation management, FMLA, and leaves of absence
  • Assist with benefits enrollment education and execution
  • Process payroll edits, review, and submit payroll accurately and timely
  • Implement and support employee relations and perks programs
  • Provide and submit reports of general Human Resources activity to respective departments
  • Work with the Corporate People Team to create and deliver necessary training to property management
  • Maintain and encourage open-door communication with all staff members
  • Ensure staff has a complete understanding of their job requirements and sufficient training before holding them accountable for results
  • Maintain awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files; ensure 100% compliance with I-9 documentation
  • Assist in ad-hoc Human Resource projects such as the collection of employee engagement surveys 
  • Ensure open lines of communication with staff, all departments, and upper management at all times via email, log books, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met
  • Attend relevant meetings and set team goals as needed

  • You’re thorough, have excellent communication, and pay close attention to detail.
  • You take initiative and can work both autonomously and within a team.
  • A plus: You have 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role within the hospitality industry preferred.
  • A plus: You’re fluent in verbal and/or written Spanish. 
  • A must: You like to have fun & be nice.
